Jason Dock Harrell is a freelance filmmaker with over 30 years experience working as a prop maker gangboss, set dresser gangboss, model maker and propmaster. The past 4 years jason has been a Professor of Production Design at SCAD, teaching up an coming filmmakers about the art department and production design. After teaching Jason has returned to the industry with renewed inspiration and a drive to decorate films and television shows.

As a young teenager, jason was fortunate enough to modestly travel around the world with his architect father, visiting all of the famed museums including The Louvre,The Van gogh museum and the all of the museums in new york city. during these journeys, jason ate dinner on the eiffel tower,shopped along the Ginza in tokyo, japan, snorkeled in the red sea of Saudi Arabia ,spent countless hours at the guggenhein museum and climbed into the crown of the statue of liberty in new york city.all of those experiences are what helped develop jason into the artist he is today.

With a world of inspiration, jason began to apprentice as a furniture maker and cabinetmaker, in high school. This inspiration carried him to college, where he studied interior design,furniture history,Architects and architectural history,art history,periods of art and furniture,styles and materials for decor and so on.

Jason graduated from savannah college of art and design with a bfa in interior design in 1990, shortly before joining the film industry.

Over his many years as a designer and fabricator, Jason has run his own business, taken on countless commissions and contracts, designing and creating sculpture, decor, furniture, kitchens and baths and brought a very connected joy through designing spaces and the elements that make them a cohesive, enjoyable space.
